Stories of our livesThe Archives gaies du Québec is pleased to invite you to the opening of HISTOIRES DE NOS VIES (STORIES OF OUR LIVES), an exhibition testifying to the lives of lesbians and gays in Quebec since the seventeenth century.Each of the sixteen panels of the show is composed of documents that illustrate a historical event or a theme from our collective experience. Sodomy trials in New-France, a homosexual scandal in 1892 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, the creation of a gay and lesbian literary club in 1917, a marriage between women in 1942 (!), protests in the streets following police raids in the 1970's: these are some of the stories that will be told.
